Jayanthi Mahothsava is a voluntary organisations in charge of organising a week long annual Jayanthi Celebrations during the first or second week of December every year, of the founder of the Jagadguru Sri Veerasimhasana Peetha, Suttur. The Jayanthi Mahotsava at Suttur is a social, religious and literary gathering, emphasizing on religion and folk art. More than four lakh devotees of Sutter Math gather to celebrate the jayanthi Mahothsava.
Swamiji’s birthday at Sri Suttur Math, Mysore The most merciful of the saints, Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Maha Swamiji, the founder of JSS Mahavidhyapeetha, had been at the helm of affairs of the Math for more than half a century, a period full of events seeking nothing but the welfare of all. His holiness birth anniversary is celebrated with grace and gaiety every year on august 29th. Special Poojas, Seminars and celebrations are organized to remember his contribution and sacrifice to the betterment and upliftment of the downtrodden. During the celebrations of the birth anniversary the retired JSS staff members are felicitated and the rank students from all the JSS educational institutions are honored.
Swamiji’s birthday at JSS institutions Born in the year 1916, his holiness Sri Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji is remembered for his phenomenal contribution to the field of Education. A scholar in Kannada, English and Sanskrit, was a patron of arts and literature. He was thoughtful and sensitive to an astonishing degree. The wisdom of all his predecessors seems to have culminated in him. That is how he was able to build an empire of educational institutions. The revered pontiff’s birth anniversary is celebrated every year on August 29th in all the 310 JSS institutions. Special Poojas, lighting of lamp and prayers are held to commemorate his holy soul.
